This coffee is from Pu’er, Yunnan, the same region where Pu’er tea is from. The name of this coffee, Kaku is the chirp of a bird in this region. We imported the coffee through direct trade with our long-term partner Yunnan Coffee Traders. This coffee is a traditional Washed Catimor and retains the flavors derived from the variety and terroir. As the Chinese coffee industry keeps improving and evolving, we’ve seen a rise in quality each year. We taste the notes of sweet chocolate brownie, rich roasted nuts with hazelnut being prominent. The soft malic acid reminds us of pear. This is a coffee which we can drink every day. It is sweet, clean and balanced.
