Hacienda La Esmeralda was founded by the Peterson family. Esmeralda is renowned worldwide for the rediscov- ery of Geisha varietal in Panama. In 2004, Esmeralda won the Best of Panama Competition with their Geisha for the first time. Their Geisha is famous for the delicate floral notes and extraordinary complexity. Esmeralda has won multiples awards throughout the years and broken the record of the highest price that coffee was sold for multiple times.
